David Lounsbury

  David Stanley Lounsbury, 59, of Thompson, Manitoba passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015. 

  He was born to Stanley and Jean (Bleakney) Lounsbury.  After graduating from Petitcodiac Regional High School in 1974 and moving out west for work, the jovial and energetic David left his mark across Northern Manitoba.  Upon joining the Hudson's Bay Company in 1975, he was first posted to South Indian Lake.  During his twenty month stint in Oxford House, David met Anna and they married on June 9, 1978 in Winnipeg.  The Oxford General Store was opened January 5, 1981 and enjoyed continued growth year after year.  Due to failing health David sold his store last year. 

  He is survived and sadly missed by his parents Stanley and Jean Lounsbury; his wife Anna; four sons Glenn (Melissa), Terrance (Shawna), Joseph (Mary) and Walter; cherished grandchildren Jesse, Nathan, Benjamin, Jordan, Zakery, Lily, Adam, Alexander, Declan and Marlee; in-laws Annie (Alpheus) Hart, Paul (Doris) Canada, Colleen Chubb, Roberta (Larry) Weenusk, Mona (Ken) Lauzon, Pervis (Daphne) Canada, Douglas Canada as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.  David is predeceased by his brother Walter; paternal grandparents Walter and Beatrice (Cole) Lounsbury; maternal grandparents Joseph and Nellie Bleakney; father and mother-in-law James and Lydia Kennedy; brother-in-law Wilmer Chubb and sister-in-law Mary Kennedy.

  A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Petitcodiac Baptist Church, Saturday, April 11 at 2 pm with Rev. David Woodworth officiating. 

  If desired, donations to the Jordan LifeCare Foundation, Petitcodiac Baptist Church or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.

  Arrangements are in the care of Salisbury Funeral Home (372-4800).
