Howard Stokes

 

  Howard George Arthur Stokes, 82, of Salisbury passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital.

  Born in Sackville, he was the son of the late Walter and Emily (Wilson) Stokes.  Howard was a retired self-employed farmer and woodsman and former janitor for the T. Eaton Company.  He was an active member of the Nixon Baptist Church, a volunteer Chaplain for Transport for Christ and he enjoyed his dogs, being in the woods and nature.

  Howard is survived by his brother Nelson Stokes (Bernice) of Lindsay, ON; nephew Gordon Stokes (Debbie) and nieces Holly Blacksky (Claude) and Donna Stokes.

  There is no visitation by personal request.  A graveside service at Nixon Cemetery will take place October 19 at 3:30 pm with a Memorial Service at the Nixon Baptist Church to follow at 4 pm with Pastor Paul Leger officiating.

  Thank you to Dr. Christine Telfer and the nurses and staff on the 6600 Unit.

  Arrangements are in the care of Salisbury Funeral Home & Crematorium (372-4800).

  If desired, memorials to the Nixon Baptist Church or Cemetery, Transport for Christ or the SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
