Mary Morton

1929-2020

Mary Morton

   Mary Theresa Morton, 91, of The Glades, formerly Irishtown, passed away peacefully at the Jordan Life Care Centre on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Born in Kingman, ME, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Hattie (Tucker) McDonald.

   Mary was the beloved wife of Carman Morton who predeceased her in December 2000. She is survived by her loving daughters, Linda Morton (John Grainger) of Mississauga ON, Marion Morton, Marilyn Morton, and Connie Mowbray (Craig), all of Salisbury, NB. She is now at peace with her daughter Donna Morton, from whose death she never fully recovered. She is treasured grandmother to Amy Gibson (Sylvain Matarazzo) and Loni Gibson. Her eyes lit the most when thinking of her two special great-granddaughters, Eva and Chloé. She is also survived by brothers, Paul McDonald (Mareta) and Mike McDonald (Jean); sisters, Agnes LeBlanc (Omer), Catherine Anne Hudson, Muriel "Mickey" Symes, Charlotte LeBlanc (Euclide), Barb Preston (Ralph), Frances Drover; and sister-in-law, Edna Palmer. She was predeceased by brother, Frederick McDonald; and sister, Ruth Warren.

   A special thank you to the staff of the Jordan Life Care Centre for the tremendous care given to Mary during her time there.

   Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106, Salisbury West, NB (506-372-4800) from where visiting will be Saturday, December 19th 2020 from 9:30 – 10:30am followed immediately by a Service to Celebrate and Honour Mary’s Life at 10:30am with Fr. Phil Mulligan officiating. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, masks are mandatory, social distancing will be respected, and capacity may be limited. For those who wish to attend the service virtually, you can follow the link on the funeral home website. Interment at St. Peter’s Catholic Church Cemetery in South Branch, NB to follow.
