Lauranna 'Sis' Bleakney
1918-2018
Lauranna "Sis" Alva Bleakney, 100, of Salisbury passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Irvine and Minnie (Lewis) O'Blenis. Sis was the oldest living member of the Salisbury Baptist Church, a longtime volunteer at S.P.O.T., Petitcodiac and former owner/operator for several years of the Bleakney & O'Blenis Store.
She is survived by her son Wayne; daughter Patricia; grandchildren Tony (Shelley), Randy (Donna), Wendy (Brad), Tammy, Matthew (Wendy), and Mark (Lynn); five great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; brother Everett O'Blenis (late Dorothy) and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Arnold; great great granddaughter Mackenzie and brothers Lamonte, Bennett, Garnet and Ronald.
The service will be held at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (372-4800) on Saturday, December 8 at 2 pm with Rev. Laura Sherwood officiating. Interment at Pine Hill Cemetery at a later date.
