Iola Elsie Walker
1925-2018
Iola Elsie Walker, 92, of Wheaton Settlement, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Moncton City Hospital.
Born in Stilesville, Iola was the daughter of the late Harry and Annie (Horsman) Kelly, and widow of the late Lawrence Walker. She spent her early working years in Toronto with General Accident Insurance. She later enjoyed travelling to places all around the world. Her hobbies included needle-point, crocheting and quilting, and she was an avid reader.
Iola leaves behind her sister-in-law, Doreen Kelly, as well as many nieces and nephews, each with their own fond memories of their dear Aunt Olie.
Iola is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Benjamin, Claude, Clinton, and Harold Kelly; sisters, Thelma Landry and Gertrude Layton.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (372-4800) from where visiting will take place on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 7 – 9 pm. A private Graveside Service will be held in Stilesville Cemetery at a later date. If desired, memorials to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
