Arnold Nathan Weir

Arnold Nathan Weir, 81, of Colpitts Settlement passed away April 2, 2018 at The Moncton Hospital surrounded by his family.

Born in Middlesex, he was the son of the late Robert and Nellie (Robb) Weir, and husband of the late Phyllis Weir.

He built his own home, lived there 55 years and finished his house after his retirement.

As an entrepreneur, Arnold attended business school, and started his own business in 1975 "Arnold Weir Roofing and Siding" which his son continues to operate today. He was a member of Legion Branch #31 Salisbury and longtime member of the Dart League. After retirement, Arnold got very active, with skating downhill skiing, and biking to keep up with the kids. He always loved to socialize and was happiest surrounded by family.

Arnold is survived by daughters Paulet (Earlin), Lana, Kim (Albert), Janice (Hart), Sunday, Bonnie (Kevin) and Lisa (Michael), sons Ricky (Kathy), Jeff (Kim), 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, brothers Harold (Louise) and Brian, sisters Helen (Bob) Wright, Julia Quinlan, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents and wife, Arnold was predeceased by sons Craig and Bruce and son-in-law Gary Campbell.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Rt 106 (372-4800) on Thursday April 5 from 2 to 4 p.m.to help them celebrate his life. It was Arnold's wish to have his body donated to the study of medical sciences at Dalhousie. Interment will take place in Middlesex Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials can be sent to Hillside Cemetery, Middlesex Cemetery or the donor's choice and would be appreciated by the family.
