Jean Barnett

  Jean Barnett, 93, of Havelock passed away peacefully September 22, 2015 at the Ridgewood Veteran's Center, Saint John.

  Born in Macclesfield, England she was a daughter of the late Charles and Marion (Lee) Mitchell. At an early age the family came to Canada settling in Saint John. She served with the CWAC as a Corporal in Saint John during WWII.  A seamstress in her home, she was a member and longtime Sunday School Superintendant of the former Trinity United Church in Havelock,  Past Worthy Grand Matron of Eastern Star and served as Commissonaire of Girl Guides of Canada.

  Survived and sadly missed by her children; Sandra Baxter (Arthur), Collina, Robert (Bob) (Donna), Lower Coverdale, Nadine Barnett , Havelock, Cheryl Black (Larry), Forks Stream; cherished grandchildren, Amanda Baxter, Christopher Baxter, Michelle Higgins, Michael Barnett, Dustin Barnett, Sarah Barnett, Michaela Tremblay, Ashley, Megan and Danielle Black; great grandchildren Cameron Higgins, Joshua, Emma and Kennedy McCully, Harper Woods, George Barnett and Katie Baxter. Survived also by sisters Marion Eastwood, Edna Brewer, Dorothy Boddington, Patricia Mitchell; brothers William, Gordon and Robert Mitchell all of Saint John and by several nieces and nephews.  

  Predeceased by her husband Russell (1974); sisters Lena Reid, Betty Parks and Agnes Mitchell.

  Resting at the Havelock Funeral Parlour, 19 Cross St. (534-2600) with visiting Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  The funeral will be held from the Havelock Baptist Church on Saturday September 26 at 1 p.m.  Interment at the Trinity United Cemetery, Havelock.
