Iva Skinner

 

  Iva Kathleen Skinner, 83, of The Grass Home, Riverview, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at her residence.

  Born in Salisbury, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Lucy (MacLeod) Wheaton. In her early working life she was employed in Moncton with the T. Eaton Company, worked with Heritage Real Estate as a Realtor, and retired from Zayres Department Store in Rhode Island. Upon retirement she and her late husband Ernest returned to Moncton and settled at Peoples Park Tower where she was President of the hymn sing group. She attended Mount Royal United Church and was a member of the Canadian Foresters.

  Survived and sadly missed by her sons, Ronald E. and his wife Dawn MacKinley, grandchildren Jacqueline and Mark, of Bonshaw, P.E., Rae Scott and his wife Lori Daiello, grandchildren Miranda and Leah of Rhode Island; sister Betty Hallihan (Willis), Wheaton Settlement ; brothers Orlo Wheaton (Carol), Prosser Brook, Robert Wheaton (Yvonne), Houston, B.C.; sister-in-law Donna Wheaton, Wheaton Settlement; brother-in-law Donald Blakney, Salisbury; special friend Sandy Knowlan, Moncton and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her husband Ernest; infant daughter Cheryl Lynn; brothers Donald and Merle Wheaton; sister Greeta Blakney and infant sister Opal Wheaton.

  A service to celebrate Iva's life will be held Saturday, January 11 at 3 p.m. from the Salisbury Funeral Home Chapel, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with Pastor Lloyd O'Blenes officiating with a reception to follow. Interment at the Wheaton Settlement Cemetery at a later date.

  If desired, memorials to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or  the Canadian Alzheimer's Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family
