Archie Corey

Havelock: Archibald (Archie) Francis Corey ,92, of Havelock passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday June 3, 2008 surrounded by his family.

Born in Cherryvale he was a son of the late Frank and Caroline (Greeno) Corey. In his early working life, Archie was a labourer at various lumber mills in the area and later worked at Canada Cement in Havelock and Barbour Foods in Sussex. He enjoyed farming, fur trapping, hunting, making hand-crafted snowshoes and working in his woodlot.

He will be sadly missed by his children Mona Thorne (Stanley) of Sussex, Ward (Darlene) and Dixie Melvin (Ronald) both of Havelock; six grandchildren Karen, Kent, Shelley, Shawni, Laura and Jennifer; six great grandchildren Alex, Emma, Larissa, Justus, Brandon and Kennedy. Survived also by a sister Mary Burke of Nappan N.S. and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Dorothy (Black); son Duane and his wife Doreen; sister Marjorie Kierstead and brothers Allan, Ernest (Hank) and Russell G.

Resting at the Havelock Funeral Parlour, 19 Cross Street (534-2600) with visiting Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Salisbury Funeral Home Chapel, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with Pastor Daniel Jack officiating. Interment at Fairhaven Cemetery, Moncton.
