June Marie Corey

COREY, June Marie passed away in Toronto on February 15, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Salisbury, NB May 23, 1934. Predeceased by parents, William and Ethel (Thorne) Corey, brother-in-law Norman O’Brian and step-mother Hazel (Holt) Corey.

Marie had taught at the Success Business College in Moncton and served as secretary of Eatons; CNR Moncton; Houghton College, New York State; Ontario Provincial Police; the Salvation Army; and volunteer work. She was active at Mt. Dennis Baptist Church, Weston Road, Toronto. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, composing hymns and writing poetry. Recently her heart’s desire was to be with the Lord "in whose presence there is fullness of joy." She is survived by sisters, Bessie O’Brian and Maxine Corey of Salisbury and brother, Canon Wallace Corey (Lynne) of Saint John; nieces and nephews, Patricia O’Brian, Norma O’Brian, Nancy O’Brian, Brenda Taylor, Bill O’Brian (Annette), Valerie Brooker (Paul), Jonathan Corey (Jessica), Andrew Corey (Liisa); great nephew, Nicholas O’Brian (Tanya); great nieces, Kelsey O’Brian, Maggie and Kaitie Taylor; great-great nephew, Conner O’Brian and friends, Constance & Rev. Don Cudjo and Monica Spragge and Rev. Dr. Michael Green and many friends.

Visitation will be held at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) on Monday, February 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Salisbury Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 2 pm. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of donor’s choice.
