Everett Carr

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Dad, Everett Allan Carr on Saturday, July 18^th. He was born in Harewood to the late John and Lena Carr in 1947.

Everett was a man whose life was marked by faithfulness, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. A former member of the New Brunswick Gospel Music Hall of Fame, he shared his God-given talent with countless people throughout the years. He especially loved bluegrass music and was known for his beautiful singing voice. Whether hosting a jam session or joining friends in song, music was one of the great joys of his life and a gift he generously shared with others.

Everett faithfully served his community for many years as a snowplow operator with the Department of Transportation, often working long hours to help keep others safe. Alongside his beloved wife, he also devoted many years to Full Gospel Assembly Kidz Kamp, where he served as "Camp Cop," earning the affection and respect of generations of campers and volunteers.

Nothing brought Everett greater joy than his family. He took great pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished every opportunity to be with them. More often than not, he could be found quietly observing the activity around him, a gentle grin on his face and a cup of tea in his hand, soaking in the moments that mattered most with those he loved the most. His quick wit and perfectly timed remarks brought laughter to those around him. He treasured the simple traditions of life, especially Sunday afternoon drives with Randy and the Sunday dinners at Lisa's. 

Known throughout the community and loved by all who knew him, Everett was the kind of man you could always count on. Faithful, dependable, and generous with his time and talents, he lived a life of service to God, his family, and his neighbors. His steady presence, warm smile, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of faith, music, laughter, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Everett is survived and deeply missed by his children, Randy (Shelley) and Lisa (Bliss); his grandchildren, Joel (Carrie), Alyssa, Amy (Frank), Josh and Jessica (Jim), along with his cherished great-grandchildren, Jemma, Jozie, Lydia, Zara, Amelia, Maggie, Patrick, Charlie, Emma, James and another on the way. Also survived by his sister, Hope (Gary), mother-in-law, Olive Taylor; sisters-in-law, Brenda, Debbie (Dave), Eileen and Sharon; brothers-in-law, Gerry (Donna), Carl (Marlene), as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was welcomed at Heaven’s gates by his loving wife of 59 years, Joyce. Also preceding him in death were his siblings, Alfred, Elmer, Leo, Wilmer, Ronnie, Paul and Hilda; his father-in-law, Beryl Taylor; his sisters-in-law, Eileen (Aurele) and Eleanor (Walter), and brothers-in-law, Harold, Kevin and Joe.

Special thanks to the staff of Fawcett’s Rest Home for the care given to Dad over the past couple of years and the nurses of 6600 unit at the Moncton Hospital; especially "Alleycat" for the care and compassion shown our Dad and the entire family in his final days.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (506-372-4800) from where visitation will be Wednesday, July 22 from 6 pm to 8 pm. The funeral will be held from the chapel on Thursday, July 23 at 11 am. Burial will take place at the Monteagle Cemetery.

If desired, memorials in memory of Everett to the Monteagle Cemetery or local food bank would be appreciated by the family.
