Glenna Burgess

1929-2026

Glenna Burgess

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Glenna Burgess on June 30th at the Silver Fox Estates.

Born on May 23, 1929 in Dobson's Corner to John & Grace (McFarlane) O'Neal.  With deaf and mute parents, life was not easy for her and her brother on their small farm.   However, the community provided support and she had many fond memories of the Killam's Mills community.

A stay at home mom for most part, she worked outside the home as a cook at Esquire Restaurant and Stan's Irving in Petitcodiac and also at MacKenzie Drycleaning.  Happiest times were spent on long drives with dad in the county and back roads.  The kitchen was always full of family and friends playing cards and cooking and later in life she enjoyed attending music jams around the area.

She was a long standing member of Petitcodiac Baptist Church.

Survived by daughters: Vera (Jon) Crossman, Gail (Gene) Crossman; grandchildren: Tina, Beverley (Pat), Sherrie, Kim, Kerry (Mark), Jim (Kim), Jennifer, Angela (Ron) and Amanda (Josh); 26 great grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by husband, Francis; son, Lee; daughter-in-law, Mary; brother, Arthur and great grandchildren, Lacey-Jay Taylor and Laura Hicks.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 506-372-4800. A private family graveside service and Celebration of Life will be held.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Albert House Hospice would be appreciated by the family.

We are grateful for the kindness and compassion shown by the Silver Fox Estates staff and residents.
