Wendy Alward
1956-2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wendy Alward, 69, of Cambridge Narrows, New Brunswick. Wendy passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, at the Moncton Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Sussex, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Velda (Steeves) Bannister. Wendy was predeceased by her parents, her father-in-law Ralph Alward, mother-in-law Molly Alward, sister-in-law Deborah Douthwright, and nephew Tyler Steeves.
Wendy was a devoted family woman who cherished the time spent with her loved ones, especially her great-grandchildren. She found joy in her book club and looked forward to their special lunch gatherings. As an active member of the First Cambridge Baptist Church, Wendy was deeply involved in her community. Retirement at the lake brought her immense joy, where she loved to entertain friends and family. Wendy also delighted in shopping trips, adding to her collection of cherished memories.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kerry Alward; son Adam Alward (Darlene); granddaughter Mackenzie Alward (Mitchell); and great-grandchildren Blakelyn and Nolan. Wendy is also survived by her siblings: Carol Martin (Dean), Louise Demille (Ronnie), Eugene Bannister (Donna), Darla Steeves (John), and brother-in-law Kim Alward (Judy), along with several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 506-372-4800, from where visitation will be held on Monday, June 22 from 4 pm - 7 pm. Interment will take place at the Maplewood Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
