Joyce Wortman
1940-2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Elizabeth (Gibson) Wortman (85) on Tuesday, June 16th, 2026 at the Moncton Hospital.
She was the only child of the late Greta Maude (Jones) and Henry Gibson.
Joyce was a member of the former Boundary Creek United Baptist Church and was a Dominion Life Member of the Boundary Creek Women’s Missionary Society and a Sunday school teacher, along with being a member of the Westmorland historical society and the South Eastern New Brunswick genealogical society
Joyce was a talented self-taught seamstress.
Joyce’s happiest times were spent with her husband and her best friend Malcom, whether it was camping at the beach with their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, mowing lawns, gardening, motorcycling and snowmobiling.
She is survived and missed by her daughter, Kathy (Duaine Lewis); granddaughter, Tammy Horseman (Darren); Great Granddaughters, Hannah and Hailey; Granddaughter, Melissa Steeves (Craig); Great Grandchildren: Elizabeth (Simon), Cameron and Jessica; Granddaughter, Cara Lewis (Greg Prowse); son, Bruce (late Debbie); Granddaughter, Dawn Russel (Mark); Great grandchildren: Claire, Evan, and Morgan; Granddaughter, Ashley Wortman (Frank Newcomb); son, Todd (Joanne); Grandchildren: Mike (Tracy), Lindsay (Royce), and Stephanie; siblings: Ken Gibson(Charlene), Pamela Gibson; sisters in-law, Elaine, Winnie, Myrna and several nieces and nephews
Besides her parents, Joyce is predeceased by her husband, Malcolm and step-mother, Marjorie.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 506-372-4800, from where visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. A Funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00pm at the Salisbury Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Doug Howatt officiating. Interment will take place at the Boundary Creek Cemetery.
