Henry Smith

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Henry George Smith, 86, of Elgin, who passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Thursday, May 14, 2026.  

Henry was a son of the late Ross and Ella Smith. He was a truck driver for CP Express before his retirement.

Henry is survived by his spouse Jean Alward; his daughter Kathy Gautreau (Mike); his son Tom Smith (Joanne); his grandchildren Dawson, Savanah, Ryan, and Dakota; his brothers Robert (late Melba) and Michael (Sharon); his sisters Thelma Plume (late Robert) Betty Steeves (Jack), Susan Macleod (Elton), Carol Woodman (late Bill); his sister in law Linda Smith and several nieces and nephews.

Henry was predeceased by his sisters Joanne Smith and Lilia Breneau, and his brothers Bruce and Phillip.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 506-372-4800.  There will be a private family graveside service at the Glades Baptist Cemetery.
