Dale Wheaton
1952-2026
It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Dale L. Wheaton, 73, of Petitcodiac on May 1, 2026. Born in Moncton, he was a son to the late Leslie & Pauline (Taylor) Wheaton.
Dale is survived and so sadly missed by his daughter, Megan Wheaton (Brennon); his partner, Janie Wheaton; his grandchildren, Spencer, Blair and Levi; his sister, Nancy Bannister as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Dale was predeceased by his brother, Donnie Wheaton; brother in-law, Blair Robb and his nephews: Douglas Wheaton, Quincy Robb and Billy Robb.
Dale began his journey as the first born adored son – living idyllically on the banks of the Pollett River, growing up with close family ties to siblings and cousins alike.
He was a man of many interests and talents. He loved to hunt and was proud to teach the Hunter’s Safety Course throughout the years.
His camp in Killam’s Mills was a favorite place. He loved nature, ATVing and was a friend to many.
A burly man with a very soft heart and a lot of love for the kids and animals alike. Special acknowledgement to Coot, his loving cat and faithful companion.
Dale had a unique sense of humor and a hearty laugh. He loved music, friends and was no stranger to a tall tale and a good time.
He had a very special relationship with Spencer and could be found beaming with pride at the hockey rink whenever he could.
He cherished his partner, Janie and he was a soft place to land for his daughter, a person she could lean on and count on for support and understanding.
He worked as a skilled millwright for Irving for many years, known for his expertise.
Among the highlights of his life was a trip to Haiti, helping build roofs on churches. He was known to local children as the "Boom Boom Man" as they drummed on his belly.
There will never be another man like him and he is going to be missed and loved by family and friends alike for many years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 506-372-4800. All arrangements at this time are being held privately. Interment will take place in the Middlesex Cemetery at a later date.
