Winnifred Douthwright

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Winnifred Joan Douthwright , 91, of Salisbury on Thursday April 30, 2026 at the Moncton Hospital with her daughter at her side.

Mom will be sadly missed by her sons, Clayton and Brian; daughter, Joanne (David) Mitton; her precious granddaughter, Melissa and great granddaughter, Myla.

Winnie was predeceased by her husband Fred; her parents, Reid and Velma (Berry) Steeves and extended family.

She was a lifetime member of the former Middlesex Baptist Church, now Cornerstone and retired as a Nurses Aid from the Spencer Memorial Home. It was her love for family and her faith that kept her going all these years.

The family is grateful to Laura Walsh for her friendship to our Mom and the excellent job she did keeping her home clean and sparkling as Mom had done when she was able.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Salisbury Funeral Home on Sunday, May 3 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. A family graveside interment will be held at a later date from the Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.

If desired, memorials to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
