Joyce Harrison

Joyce Madaline Harrison of Harrison Settlement, Albert Co. NB, was 77 and the wife of the late Arnold Gilbert Harrison. Joyce passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side at the Moncton City Hospital on Thursday morning, December 26, 2024.

Born at the Moncton City Hospital on January 4, 1947, Joyce was the daughter of the late Caleb Humphrey Harrison and Alice May Harrison.

She was a kind, caring and loving mother, always putting her children first, loving them "to the moon and back and all around the universe."

She enjoyed listening to music, country drives with picnics and visiting with family and friends. She also enjoyed baking and was known for her blueberry pie and homemade bread. Knitting was a pastime and sharing that knitting with friends and family was a joy for Joyce.

She is survived and sadly missed by her two sons Joseph Wayne Harrison and Jason Murray Harrison, both of Harrison Settlement, Albert Co. NB, and her daughter, Amie Lynn Mathieson (David) of Springhill NS, and her sister, Mildred Taylor (John) of Sussex NB., as well as several nieces and nephews

She was predeceased by a son Jeremy Harrison, twin to Jason Murray Harrison, shortly after birth in 1978, and husband, Arnold Gilbert Harrison in 1985.

She often spoke fondly of Arnold and how much she missed him, and it gives her family comfort knowing she is reunited with Arnold and her son Jeremy.  

She was also predeceased by sisters; Stella Stiles, Lillian Tozer, Bertie Lawrence, Doris Gillis, Fay Lawrence, Helen Sands, Jean Lowther, Judy Cook, and brothers; Naman, Jack, Stewart, Hanford, Edward, Andy, Peter and Kenneth.

A graveside service will take place at Harrison Mountain Cemetery in the Spring of 2025.
