Ruth Stevens
1933-2024
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Ruth Ida (Branscombe) Stevens, 91, widow of Paul Edgar Stevens, formerly of Steeves Settlement, passed away at the Jordan LifeCare Centre Saturday, December 21, 2024. Born in Steeves Settlement, NB, she was a daughter to the late Loretta and Lucas Branscombe. She attended Teachers College and then taught at Petitcodiac Regional High School and later supplied for numerous years. A member of the Havelock Wesleyan Church, where she played the piano and also served as Treasurer for many years. She enjoyed listening to Gospel Music, playing the piano, sewing, gardening and looking after her flowers
Ruth is survived and sadly missed by her daughter, Cynthia Coates (late David) of Fort McMurray, AB; her son, Dwayne Stevens (Christine) of Steeves Settlement; grandchildren, Sarah Black, Jacob Coates, Mackenzie, Callie, Jared, Sierra, Marisol and Cody Stevens; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Brooklyn, Maverick as well as countless friends. She is predeceased by her son, Daryl Stevens and her brother, George Branscombe.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home (506-372-4800) with visiting Saturday, December 28 from 7 pm – 9 pm and from where the service will held in the chapel on Sunday, December 29 at 2 pm., Pastor Amy Taylor officiating. Interment in Steeves Settlement cemetery at a later date.
If desired, donations in memory of Ruth to the Havelock Wesleyan Church or Steeves Settlement Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
