Mum worked as a resident care attendant for 31 years at The Jordan Memorial Home and then the Jordan LifeCare Centre before retiring. She and her husband always enjoyed planting a garden as well as four wheeling, snowmobiling and fishing but mostly they were avid campers all their lives typically going with friends somewhere they could put a fishing line in the water. She was always a going concern out for a coffee with friends or on an adventure. She always had an open door for friends with a pot of coffee on and a fresh cake or pie ready. After retirement she & Dad enjoyed travelling with their motorhome all over the Maritimes but their fondest memories were at Wolf lake in Fundy park where in earlier years they would have Thanksgiving dinners cooked on the Wood stove with many Friends in their campers too. It was Friendsgiving before Friendsgiving was a thing. No matter where mum was you could see her with knitting needles or a crochet hook creating something beautiful. She always made sure her children and grand-children had many sweaters, hats and mittens and a house full of crocheted doilies and tablecloths. She enjoyed her bingo outings and ceramic creations.
For the past Year and a half she made her way back to the Jordan LifeCare Centre, now calling it home. She thoroughly enjoyed going to all the activities including crafts, music, bingo and outings in the van. She was well known for greeting everyone with a Bright smile and a big wave as well as getting into some shenanigans with her dear friend Edith.
We are eternally grateful to all the staff and residents for the care, love and Friendship that they surrounded mum with and especially for all the love that has been shown to Mum and us over the past few difficult weeks ensuring we were all taken care of and sharing Beautiful memories. We are thankful for all of our Friends and Family who have been there for us during this sad time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 506-372-4800. As per her wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.
If desired, donations made to the Jordan LifeCare Centre Foundation Activities department would be appreciated by the family.
