Gladys "Bunny" Davis
1936-2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gladys Lydia ‘‘Bunny’’ (Williston) Davis, Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton on December 4, 2024 at the age of 88. Born in Douglastown, NB she was a daughter of the late James Elroy and Clarissa Pearl (Geikie) Williston.
Bunny was a woman of quiet faith, strong determination when putting her mind to something, loved her family deeply along with a clean orderly house. Bunny liked to keep busy and put her energies into cooking and baking which was always something to look forward to when visiting. She also loved board games, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and music; especially hymns were part of her routine in days gone by. Bunny had an adventurous spirit, and never said no to a road trip or joining with family members to explore places like Spain, Mexico, Cuba and US. In later years as Alzheimer’s took her memory, she seemed to always figure out how to find Marvin, who was in a different room and a different wing of Spencer’s, which always amazed those closest to her. Bunny will be missed; memories will warm us and knowing that her faith has given her a new body, free from pain and confusion. But best of all she will be able to tap her toes to hymns she loved while sitting beside Jesus. Bunny passed peacefully surrounded by family.
Bunny is survived by her husband Marvin Caleb Davis also of Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton; daughters Ruth Hovey (Wilson) and Diane Davis (Dave); one son, Clark Davis (Cheryl); grandchildren - Tracy Hovey, Ruth Thompson (Victer), Robert Hovey, Greg Hope, Samantha McIntosh (Jordan), Ben Davis and Zack Davis (Krista), and special granddaughter Amanda Dow; great-grandchildren – Joshua Lapensee (Linda), Lydia Lapensee, Sofia Pereira, Declan Hovey, Fiona Hovey and one great-great-grandchild – Miquel Lapensee; nieces and nephews.
