Richard Eagles Jr.

1974-2024

Richard Eagles Jr.

With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Richard "Ricky" Gordon Eagles Jr, at the age of 50 years, on November 3, 2024.

He was born in Burlington, Ontario on June 21, 1974 to Richard Eagles and Debbie (White) Eagles.  The family moved to Cape Breton shortly after where he and his older sister Melanie grew up.

Ricky always had a great sense of humor and a magnetic personality. He was the class clown in elementary school, always making everyone laugh.

As a teenager he had many friends, he was always a fun person to be around. He was known for that "sideways walk" he did so his long hair didn’t get messed up in the wind.

As an adult, he was a skilled and gifted carpenter by choice and an electrician by trade.  He astounded employers with his ability to estimate perfectly what was required for a job. He played guitar and had an excellent singing voice, though few were aware of it.

He spent some time in Dartmouth NS and working out west with his former wife, Laura MacDougall Eagles and his beautiful children, Meghan and Kyle.

Eventually he returned to Nova Scotia, but spent his final years in Moncton where he created beautiful handcrafted swords in his spare time.

He loved his family and they love and miss him so very much.

Richard is survived by his children, Meghan Rose (Colin Fraser) and Kyle Richard, sister Melanie Debra, niece Amanda Makayla Martin and his parents Richard Gordon Eagles Sr and Debra Ann (White) Eagles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur Eagles, Nina (MacIntyre) Eagles, William White and Mary "Nessie" (MacNeil) White.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 9 at 4pm at St Mary’s Parish in East Bay.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 506-372-4800.
