Douglas MacLeod
1948-2024
Douglas Robert MacLeod, 76 of The Glades passed away suddenly on Monday, October 28, 2024 at The Moncton Hospital.
Born in Moncton, he was a son of the late G. Robert (Bob) and Shirley (Reid) MacLeod.
Doug was a great man with immense pride. He had a great work ethic and dedication to everything he did, (especially his mowing). He loved his service work with the Riverview Lion’s Club and especially as a volunteer firefighter with Riverview Fire Dept. and talked about it often.
He loved his family and always looked forward to seeing them. He has had many numerous pets over the years, whom he loved dearly, but his favourite buddy is his cat Elmer, who slept with him every night since the first day he came to the house. (He is lost without Doug)
Doug loved to cook and always added a bit of spice to everything. He had a passion for stock car racing and you knew where he’d be on Sundays and to not make other plans.
He had a heart of gold and would lend a helping hand to anyone. He had an impact on a lot of people over the years and will be missed by many.
Doug is survived and sadly missed by his wife Karen (Henry); son Steven MacLeod (Jennifer); daughter Sandra MacLeod; step-sons Shawn Taylor (Tara) and Jason Taylor (Vicki); grandchildren Bradley, Sarah, Makayla, Caleb, and Allie; great grandchildren Isaac and Eilla; sister Jan Lewis (Aaron); brother Ron MacLeod (Fern) and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Gary MacLeod.
Arrangements are in the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (506)372-4800 where family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, November 2 from 3 pm – 5 pm.
If desired, donations in memory of Doug to the IWK or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
