James "Jim" Power
1939-2024
James Richard Power passed away Oct. 4, 2024 at the Moncton City Hospital after a brief illness at age 85.
Survived by his wife of 58 years, Carole; son, Gary (Ronda) of Boundary Creek; grandsons, Connor and Ryan of Moncton; daughters, Debra of Fredericton, Tracey of Nanaimo, BC; his sisters, Barbara (Paul) of Fredericton and Sharon (Doug) of Moncton; brothers in-law, James Quillian (Dorothy) of Riverview, Leonard Quillian of Moncton, Doug Tobin of Moncton and Paul Tower of Fredericton; his nephews, Rick Tobin (Sheri) of Calgary, AB, Jason Quillian (Nora) of Spain, Jeremy Quillian (Sylvie) of Riverview and Dr. Michael Power (Jennifer) of Ottawa, ON; his nieces, Rhonda Quillian of Moncton, Blaise Power of Trenton, ON, Karen Power (Al) of Ottawa, ON, Barbara Quigley and Moncton family.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Ottie and Marion Power; his brother, Kent Power of NS; and his nephews, Stephen Tobin of ON, and Nicco Power Roth of AB.
Jim retired in 2007 as a long distance trucker after 50 years’ experience accident free. He joined Riverview Veterans Association playing darts many years. He enjoyed cooking for them for special events, he also belonged to the amateur HAM Radio Association. He enjoyed talking to people all over. Many operators will miss him on the Friday Net.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 506-372-4800. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 8th from 10:00am until time of the Mass beginning at 11:00am from St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Salisbury. Thank you to everyone who will attend the Celebration of Jim’s Life.
