Paul Briand

1955-2024

Paul Briand

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Briand, 69, of Elgin on August 23, 2024, with his family by his side at his home.

Born in Neils Harbour, Cape Breton on March 26, 1955, he was the son of Susan Briand (Rambeau) and the late Douglas Briand.

Paul is survived by his wife, Susan of 36 years; his four daughters: Julie Street, Candace Briand, Rebecca Sharp, Candice Collens and all of his grandchildren. Also survived by his brother, Philip Briand (Allison); sisters: Heather Briand Roy (Shawn), Wanda Briand, Vicky Pavlicic (Peter) as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Paul loved life, his family and friends. From his teenage years, Paul had a passion for driving trucks, which led to a long career that took his all over North America. He was able to live out his passion. In his spare time, Paul loved to fish, hunt, four wheeling and tell tall tales about all his adventures. He lived his life on his own terms. He made a lot of good friends over the years and cherished each and every one of you.

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Dr. Brown, staff of the Petitcodiac Medical Center, George Dumont Hospital, Moncton City Hospital, Palliative Care Doctors and Extra Mural Nurses with special thanks to Claudiane. Without all of you, Paul would not of been able to spend his final days at home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 506-372-4800 from where the family will receive relatives and friends in Celebration of Paul’s life on Wednesday, August 28th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
