Christian Best
1983-2024
It is with great sadness that the Best family announces that Christian Edward Best, age 41, of Salisbury, NB, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones, on August 10, 2024 at Sacré-Coeur Hospital in Montreal, QC. Born in Saint John, NB, Christian lived his life loving and caring deeply for others, especially his family and friends. Those who truly knew him, fondly remember his playful sense of humour, silly pranks, and the warmth of his gentle smile.
Christian was our deeply loved son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, nephew, and friend. His love of nature, canoeing, and hiking brought many memories and adventures including receiving the Mayor’s Award for his heroic efforts on a white water canoeing trip with his Scout troop where he saved two people from drowning when they fell into the rapids.
Affectionately known as "Buck" by his sisters and "Uncle Buck" by his nephews and niece, Christian is remembered for sharing his favourite treat (Skittles) with the kids using a Spider-Man style delivery to each of them. He will be greatly missed and treasured forever.
Christian was predeceased by his grandparents, George & Eileen Best, Helen McEnroe, and Donald McEnroe. Grieving his loss and carrying on the memory of his life are his parents, Edward & Beverly Best (Salisbury); sisters, Gillian Crandall (Jonathan), Stephanie Best (Marc Thomas) (Riverview); nephews and niece, Joel, Callan, Brynn, Brennen, and Rylan; Great-Uncle Hugh Rutter (Montreal); his lifelong friend and brother Ernie Delarge (Moncton), and his aunts, uncles, and cousins in Montreal and Moncton.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home (506-372-4800) where a Celebration of Christian’s Life will be held Wednesday, August 21 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Chris Hayes officiating.
In honour of Christian’s giving spirit, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Humanity Project would be appreciated by the family.
