Jason Hughes

1962-2024

Jason Hughes

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jason Hughes, a devoted father, loving grandfather, and a man of unwavering faith after a life marked by resilience and strength, Jason Hughes left this world on August 13, 2024.

Throughout his life, Jason faced numerous illnesses and challenges that would have overwhelmed many, but not him. He beat the odds time and again, drawing strength from his deep faith and his love for his family.

A man of profound faith, Jason was deeply devoted to the church and his spiritual journey. His belief in God was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him through both the joyous and difficult moments. He was a beacon of faith for his family and community, always leading by example and offering a kind word or prayer to those in need, but beyond his steadfast faith, Jason was known for his incredible sense of humor. He had a knack for making people laugh, whether it was through a clever joke or a playful prank. His laughter was contagious and his wit brought joy to everyone around him.

Above all, Jason was a devoted father. His two daughters and six grandchildren were his absolute world. He was their pillar of strength, always there with a warm smile, a word of wisdom, or a comforting embrace. No matter what he was going through, his love for his family never wavered. He cherished every moment spent with them, and they, in turn, were blessed to have such a strong, loving, and dedicated father and grandfather.

Jason is survived by his two daughters, Kayla Hughes of Salisbury and Brittany Saule of Moncton; his grandchildren, Laylan, Emmerson, Briar, Abel, Lawson and Miller; his siblings, John Hughes (Kathy) of Birch Ridge, Julie Holliday (Pete) of Greer, South Carolina, Joe Hughes (Donna) of Steeves Mountain, Jim Hughes (Diane) of Berry’s Mills, and June Wood (Stephen) of Marwayne, Alberta; his special friends, Craig Edgar, Eileen Lewis as well as several nieces and nephews.

Jason was predeceased by his parents, Frank & Irma Hughes and his brother, Jeffery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 506-372-4800.  A visitation will take place on August 17th from 12:30pm until time of the Celebration of Life at 2:00pm from the Lutes Mountain Church of the Nazarene, 2 Briggs Cross Rd, Lutes Mountain, NB with a reception to follow. A private interment will be held at the Horsman Cemetery.
