JoAnne Seamone

1951-2024

JoAnne Seamone

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of a beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, JoAnne Lozane Seamone (Stewart), beloved wife of John Basil Seamone of Monteagle, NB on Monday, July 29, 2024.  Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick on April 27, 1951, she was a daughter to Elizabeth Douglas and the late Percy Stewart.

In 1971 JoAnne moved to the Greater Moncton area with her husband, John where they spent the next 53 years building a beautiful life together, creating lasting memories and strong connections to their community. They raised a family and established a successful business of over 40 years.

JoAnne is survived by a large loving family, including her mother, Elizabeth Smith (Douglass), her siblings Richard Stewart (Jeannie), Kathy Stewart (Rick Fogarty), Charles Stewart (Catherine), Dana Stewart (Marg Barton), and Martin Stewart (Karen), as well as many nieces and nephews. JoAnne enjoyed nothing more than being surrounded by her children, Heather Rhodes (JP), Anthony Seamone (Amy Steeves), Ryan Seamone (Joanne), and Holly Seamone (Lee Sundstrom), as well as her beloved grandchildren, Jaycob, Mekenzie, Julianna, Benjamin and Ella Mae. She is predeceased by her step-father John Smith, and her brothers, Bob and Douglas Stewart.

In 2008, JoAnne moved to Monteagle, New Brunswick, with her husband and in 2017, retired and spent her time enjoying nature’s gifts of peace, tranquility and watching the deer roam the fields.

Her legacy is one of quiet, gentle strength, courage and humility. She worked tirelessly always striving to never be a burden to others. She treasured the simple joys in life, like her books, puzzles, crosswords, iced caps and appreciated the little things that brought her happiness like a phone call from her grandchildren.  Her memory will be cherished by those who knew her, as a testament to a life lived with  hope, grace and a deep appreciation for the small moments. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.  The impact of one’s life is not restrained by the confines of time but lives on in the lives of all that were blessed by the love and compassion they shared.
