Phyllis Plume

1947-2024

Phyllis Plume

It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts we announce the untimely passing of our beloved mother, Phyllis Plume nee Steeves, whose witty humor, love of leopard print and the colour red will never be forgotten.

Mom is survived and sadly missed by her children: Margie Yeomans, Bruce (Lorraine) Yeomans, Patsy Walker, Rodney (Marlene) and Tom (Tammy) Yeomans; grandchildren:  Vanessa (Darren) Erb, Kristin Walker, Emma-Lee Kaye, Tyler and Ashley Yeomans, Jordan Murray, Stephanie (Dwayne) Head and Julien Henri; great grandchildren: Braeden, Bailey, and Brantley Erb, Karlee, Rylan and Hadley Richard, Tobiasz Warzocha and Valarie, Aria and Amelia Head; aunts and uncles: Ronnie & Winnie Bateman, Joy Welland and Anna Steeves; brother-in-law, Arnold Douthwright; sister-in-law, Barb (Barton) Ayer; nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Predeceased by her parents, Clinton (2016) and Emily (2023) Steeves; sister, Shirley (2022) Douthwright; and nephew, Darcy (1976), as well as several aunts and uncles.

Mom was a passionate reader and very creative writer.  If you had ever received a letter, card or note from her you would think she was right there, telling her tale.  She could play Scrabble for hours and enjoyed going to the rink, watching her grandchildren play hockey.  A few years back a little guy by the name of Frid came into her life – she loved that dog, who gave her so much love, companionship and comfort, may he RIP.

Mom made so many good friends over the years and she cherished each and every one of you. A special thank you Sylvia and Kelly for your constant love and support.  Also, thank you to Dr. Blanchard, the palliative care doctors and nurses at Extra Mural and Marlene, for your kindness and compassionate support. Without you, Mom would not have been able to spend her final days at home, which was very important to her.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 506-372-4800 from where a visitation will be held on Sunday, July 28th, 2024 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm. A private family interment will take place at the Pleasant Vale Cemetery.

If desired, donations made to the Petitcodiac Anglican Church or IWK would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Online condolences and donations may be made at www.keirsteads.ca

I`m Free

Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free
I`m following the path God had for me
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I`ve found that peace at the close of day
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah, yes these things I too will miss
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
Dance in the sunshine of tomorrow!
My life`s been full, I`ve savoured much
Good friends, good times, a loved one`s touch
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don’t lengthen it now with undo grief
Lift up your heart in my memory, for now
My soul is truly free
