Pam Melvin

1964-2024

Pam Melvin Pam Melvin

It is with great sadness and deep sorrow, the family announces the passing of Pamela "Pam" Melvin on July 15th, 2024. Born in Moncton on April 6, 1964, she was a daughter of William Hicks (Jeannine) and the late Betty McKnight (Allen).

Pam would do anything for her children, and her husband of almost 40 years. She loved nothing more than spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. She gave her heart and soul to them and truly was the best Gam-Gam around. When she wasn’t spending time with them, she was in the barn with her many goats.

Pam had an immense impact on not only her family and friends, but also the lives of the many children she worked with over the years as an Educational Assistant at PRS. She worked endlessly to make sure those students got the opportunities they deserved.

Pam is survived by her devoted husband, Stanford "Stan" Melvin; her children, Jesse Melvin (Sam) and Abby Pijnenburg (Bart); her grandchildren: Myah, Maycii, Nash, Scarlett and Isabelle; her sister, Susan Howatt (Kent), brother Jason Hicks (Mel), stepfather Allen McKnight ; her brothers in-law: Brian, Daryl, Gordon and their spouses; her sisters in-law, Stella, Evelyn and their spouses, as well as her nieces and nephews.

Pam was predeceased by her mother, Betty McKnight, and her sister, Kimberley Soucoup.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 506-372-4800, where a Celebration of Pam’s Life will be held on Sunday, July 21st, 2024, from 2-4pm. Interment will take place in the Lower Ridge Cemetery at a later date.

If desired, donations made to the Petitcodiac Regional School Resource Department would be greatly appreciated by the family, in lieu of flowers.  Online condolences and donations may be made at www.keirsteads.ca

Cash and cheque donations can be sent to the District until PRS reopens in September.

  • Cheques to be written to Minister of Finance and include Pam Melvin Memorial Fund on the item line

The donation links will remain active until August 31, 2025.
