Elizabeth (Betty) Maxwell

Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Maxwell, 63 of Havelock passed away Friday July 5, 2024 at Moncton hospital. Born in St. Catherine’s NFLD she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Pauline (Power) Walsh.

As a young adult she left the island to visit some relatives in New Brunswick where she met her future husband. She had many jobs in many different places (Lahr, Germany Canex warehouse, Petawawa, ON, Windsor, and NS Tim Hortons) and volunteered at local Legions as a beloved bartender. In her spare time she could be found in the Bingo halls or slot machines. While in Germany she enjoyed playing darts which took her even further to places like Scotland and England. In more recent years she enjoyed playing cribbage for the Havelock Legion which got her to nationals in Vancouver B.C.

Survived and dearly missed by her husband of 40 years Glenn E. Maxwell; her children Glenn T. Maxwell (Jeanine) and Kimberly D. Maxwell; her grandchildren Connor, Chase, Dominic, MacKenzie, and Jayden Maxwell  as well as Damen, Dixon, Kira, and Kensley Wall. She was also survived by five brothers and three sisters.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home (506-372-4800). At this time, all arrangements are being held privately.
