Terrance (Terry) Smith

Terrance (Terry) Foster Smith, 76 of Petitcodiac went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 13, 2024. His loving wife, family and pastor were by his side.

Born in Hillgrove, he was a son of the late Hubert (Mort) and Gladys (Davis) Smith. Terry was a faithful member and deacon at the Hillgrove Baptist Church, a former Sunday school teacher, youth group leader and was always very involved with the Christmas shoeboxes for families in need and he was a volunteer and member of the board for SPOT for many years and the kids and grandkids reaped the benefits of his many SPOT finds. He loved going to the woods, cutting firewood for himself and anyone who may have been in need. He had a passion for his horses, working with them in the woods for many years and he loved doing hayrides and wagon rides for Sunday School picnics or any occasion.

Survived and sadly missed by his wife Heather (Colpitts) Smith; sons, Stephen (Margie) of Carsonville, Shawn (Carmen) of Petitcodiac, Scott (Paula) of Hillsborough and Seth (Kelsey) of Portagevale; grandchildren, Malin, Jade (Alex), Dylan (Lindsay) and Alex, Jake, Aiden and Caissie; great grandchildren, Deacon, Sydney and Edyn; sisters, Carolyn Wynes (Reg) of Hillgrove and Jackie Wagner (Wayne) of Salisbury; brother-in-law, Robin Colpitts of Hillgrove and many nieces, nephews and anyone who crossed Terry’s path that had been touched by his life.  Besides his parents Terry was predeceased by his in-laws, George Colpitts and Margaret Colpitts (Robertson); brother, Roger Smith; sister-in-law, Sharlene Smith (Cameron) and brother-in-law, Clyde Colpitts.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (506-372-4800) with visiting at the Hillgrove United Baptist Church on April 18 from 6 – 8 pm. The service will be held on Friday, April 19 at 2 pm with Pastor Lawrence Earle officiating. Interment at Hillgrove Baptist Cemetery.
