Gertrude Wilson
1940-2024
Gertrude Emma (Mitton) Wilson, 83 of Salisbury and formerly of Little River was called to be with her Lord on Monday, March 25, 2024.
Born in Gunningsville, Albert County on November 9, 1940, she was the youngest daughter of the late Allison Cushion and Annie Rose (Geldart) Mitton of Prosser Brook. She was the widow of the late Ralph (Sonny)Wilson of Little River. Gertrude was an active member of the former Middlesex Baptist Church, a homemaker, and a lifelong member of the Prosser Brook and Parkindale Baby Band. She loved to work outside in her flower gardens, and she enjoyed sewing, cooking, knitting, crocheting, reading, her hobby of making quilts, playing games and doing puzzles. Gertrude was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and she loved family get-togethers.
She is survived and missed by her son Dennis (Mary-Lynn) of Allison; daughters April (Peter) of Monastery, NS, Lorraine (Larry) of Nova Scotia and Shelley Arthur (Dave) of Little River; cherished grandchildren Andrew Davis, Rebecca Adair, Lindsay Green (Jonathan), Devin Colpitts, Dana Harrison (Krista), Samantha Doyle (Billy), Daryl Wilson (Carissa), Derrick Wilson (Becca), Erica Wilson (Troy), Damien Harrison and Brook Gogan; great grandchildren: Zackary, Maranda, Connor, Sophia, Ethan, Hunter, Dylan, Allyssa, Raven, Meadow, Jaxson, Paisley, Peyton, Aspen and Sunny as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband Gertrude was predeceased by her daughter Clintonia Anne Davis; sisters Josephine Crossman, Lillian Black, Rose Black, Irene Douthwright, Pauline Lalmare and Margaret Gauvin; brothers: Ronald, Allison Jr., Norman, Irvine, Clinton, Evans Mitton and her grandchild, Leah Green.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home (506)372-4800 from where visitation will be held on Friday, March 29th from 2:00pm - 4:00pm & 6:00pm - 8:00pm. A Funeral service will be held the following day, March 30th from the Salisbury Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00am with refreshments to follow. Interment will be held at a later date from the Wilson Cemetery, Little River.
