It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of our Mother, Jeanette Eileen (Jonah) Arbeau which occurred on February 3, 2024. Born on August 6, 1929 in Portage Vale, NB, she was the middle daughter of Harry & Mary (Stiles) Jonah. She passed away comfortably surrounded by her family.

Jeanette retired from the Federal Government, Manpower Division in January of 1987. She enjoyed her retirement and worked in the mission field for years which took her to places such as Bolivia, St. Croix Island in the Caribbean, Haiti, Churchill, Manitoba, Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta, Montreal, Quebec and many mission projects in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

Jeanette moved to Assisted Living, York Development, Fredericton, NB in the fall of 2010 due to poor eye sight and failing health. From there she moved to York Care Centre in the fall of 2017.

Jeanette is survived by her five children: Victor Arbeau (Linda), Christine Curtis (David), John Arbeau (Cindy), Stephen Arbeau (Svitlana) and Joy Wellwood (Kevin); daughter in-law, Darlene Arbeau; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Jeanette was predeceased by her son, Barry Arbeau and both of her sisters, Mildred Gaudet and Evelyn Graves.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 506-372-4800. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Elgin Baptist Church on February 13, 2024 at 1:00pm.
