Donald (Don) Pond

1945-2024

Donald (Don) Pond

Donald Richard Pond "Don", 78, of Steeves Mountain passed away peacefully at Forest Dale Nursing Home Tuesday, January 9th, 2024 after his journey with Dementia.  Born April 8th, 1945 in Fredericton he was a son of the late Harold Pond and Velma (Price) Beairsto.

Don was a career entrepreneur having owned a number of prosperous businesses over the years.  He was a life long race car enthusiast competing successfully in the "87" car. He never waivered in his support to his wife Lisa, with her many projects, horses and dogs. He enjoyed working on their property, RV’ing, and meeting many new friends along the way.  Don loved a good time, and a glass of Chivas Regal scotch,  with the attitude of "the more the merrier".   Another one of his favorite places was behind the controls of his CAT excavator.  Well known for his witty sense of humour, and one liners, he was a rascal, a rogue and knight in shining armour to many including Lisa, and both families.

Survived and greatly missed by his beloved wife and partner, Lisa (Booth), his children Cheli Richard (Maurice), Adam (Jodi) and Noah (Trudy), six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, brothers Carl (Jill), Bruce (Marilyn), sister in law Sharon, and by several nieces and nephews. Survived also by his mother in law, Valerie Booth, brothers in law Darren (Ann), Derek (Shauntha), and Kevin (Monique) and their families.  Predeceased by his mother Velma, a brother Terry, and father in law John.

Arrangements are in care of the Salisbury Funeral Home and Crematorium, 3350 Route 106, from where a Celebration of Don’s life will be held Sunday, January 14th at 2 pm with Pastor Jason Cochran officiating and a light lunch to follow.

If desired memorials to Fulfilling Heart Rescue, the SPCA, or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
