Carl Hawkes

  It is with great sorrow that we announce Carl Francis Hawkes, 76, of Five Points passed away at home on December 27, 2023.

  He was born on March 5, 1947 in Amherst Nova Scotia, and was known for his kind-hearted nature and love for life, family, and pets. Carl was a familiar face in the craft sales community, always eager to meet and connect with others.

  Carl is survived by his beloved wife, Norma Hawkes, and his daughter, Lisa Fagan (Shawn). He was a proud grandfather to Matthew Fagan (Nikita), Elizabeth Francis (Corey), Makayla Hawkes, and Canyon Hawkes. Additionally, he leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Ariella, Grayson, Quinn, and Beau. Carl came from a large family of 12 siblings, including Donna Dunning (Ernie), Sandra Patriquin, Kay Thurston, Jim Hawkes (Donna), Judy Rhindress (Charlie), Beverly Hayword (Ross), Barb Hurley (Eric), Allen Hawkes (Joan), and Charlotte Strathearn (Larry).

  He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Estella Hawkes, as well as his sister, Virginia Bolger, brother Edwin Hawkes, and his son, Stephen Hawkes.

  Throughout his career, Carl dedicated himself to the meat industry. He worked at Hub Meat Packers for the majority of his professional life and later joined C & C Packing after Hub's closure. Starting as a meat cutter, Carl eventually transitioned into sales.

  In his free time, Carl had a passion for woodworking. He established "Carl's Creations," where he crafted and sold exquisite birdhouses and bird feeders. His creations became well-known in the area, showcasing his talent and craftsmanship.

  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home (506-372-4800). As per his wishes a private family graveside service will be held at Five Points Cemetery.
