Ena Thorne

  Ena Venetta Thorne, 90 of Kinnear Settlement passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the Moncton Hospital.

  Born in Kinnear Settlement, she was a daughter of the late Hartley and Hazel (McCully) Colpitts.  Ena was a life member, treasurer and WMS member of the former Kinnear Settlement Baptist Church. She was a past member of the Loyal True Blue Lodge, Wheaton Settlement and the Kinnear Settlement W.I. She enjoyed being a homemaker and her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren gave her great joy. Throughout the years Ena enjoyed making many quilts.

  She is survived and sadly missed by her sons Barry (Kathy), Philip (Shelley) and Brent (Stephanie); grandchildren Kristin Wilson (Allison), Brennan (Andrea), Ryan (Nancy), Tammy-Lynn McFarlane (Danny), Jason (Alyssa) and Jeremy; thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Ena was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Predeceased by her husband Donald; sisters Jessie McLean, Evelyn Constantine, Pauline Plume and Alice Crandall and brothers Walter, Eddie, Evans and Floyd.

  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (506-372-4800) with visiting Tuesday, November 28 from 6 pm - 8 pm. The funeral will be held in the chapel Wednesday, November 29 at 2 pm with Rev. David Woodworth officiating. Interment at Kinnear Settlement Cemetery.
