Gerald (Gerry) Jones

  Gerald Clayton Jones (Gerry), 82, passed peacefully, after a brief illness, on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 after having the opportunity to say Good-bye to family.

  Survived by his everloving and supportive wife of 60 years, Carol (Cochrane); sons Darin (Connie) and Sean (Leanne); cherished granddaughters Brittney (Will) and Bethany; brothers Vernon "Bunk" (Trena), Ronald and Richard. Gerry was predeceased by his parents Aldean and Sybil (Gray) and brother Albert (Carolyn).

  Gerry was a dedicated, lifelong salesman, serving his many customers until his retirement at age 80. Gerry sold everything under the sun.

  Sunday suppers and festive meals, around the dining room table, surrounded by family enjoying Carol's wonderful cooking was an important part of Gerry's life. Instilling his sons with family and life values was also important to him.

  Aside from his family, Gerry's passion was golf. The numerous trips to Mill River, PEI with "The Boys" and Hartland, NB were near and dear to his heart. He also loved his music: Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis and Merle Haggard were his favourite artists.

  Gerry made so many great friends along his travels. He would stop and talk to anyone, often for far longer than they may have expected.

  Gerry kept his amazing sense of humour until the very end, often joking with the nurses and doctors in the hospital.

  Gerry had a different take on the old addage "Live as if your life matters", as he lived as other's lives mattered too.

  A huge thank you to the doctors and nurses of the 4200 Unit of the Moncton Hospital for their support and compassion through Gerry's brief stay.

  Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (506-372-4800) with visiting Monday, November 6 from 3 pm to 6 pm. Interment at River Glade Community Cemetery at a later date.
