Betty Thorne
1930-2023
Betty Kathleen Thorne, 92, of Briarlea on Ryan Rd and formerly of Petitcodiac and Havelock, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.
Born in Canaan Forks, she was a daughter of the late Cyril and Greta (Tingley) Paterson. Betty attended the Petitcodiac Baptist Church, was a member of Petitcodiac Golf and Country, Petit Seniors and Ladies Bowling League, previous Awana Leader at Havelock Baptist Church, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Havelock and campaigned for various groups and organizations.
She is survived and sadly missed by her daughters Loris Marsden (Wayne Smith), Pat Robinson (Mac), Karen James (Reg Renton) and Candace Arsenault; sons Terry, Rodney (Donna Gibbs) and Ronald: daughter-in-law Phyllis Thorne-Calvert; brother Dr. Malcolm Paterson (Sandi); sisters Elsie Wallace, Shirley Keith and Joyce Histead; sisters-in-law Lois Paterson and Ena Thorne; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Otty; son Dean; son-in-law Raymond Marsden; brothers Ronald, Victor and Reginald Paterson; brothers-in-law Clair Wallace, Everett Keith and Al Histead.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (506-372-4800), with visiting Sunday, October 8 from 2 - 5 pm and from where the funeral will be held Monday, October 9, 11 am with Rev. David Woodworth officiating. Interment will be at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
