He is survived by his children: Derek (Hanna), Dan (June), Dale (Flossy), Shannon (Jeff) and Jerry. He was predeceased by his first wife, Yvonne, who passed away in 1969 and his wife, Joyce, who passed away in 2021.

Len was born in Cape Breton the son of Joseph & Cecile Deveau. He was a member of a large family and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force at a young age of 17 years. He served with distinction for 29 years as Fighter Controller, completing postings in France, United States and various bases in Canada and retired as a Warrant Officer. He was awarded the U.S Presidential "We Point With Pride" award for successfully assisting a non-pilot to land an aircraft when its pilot was incapacitated.

He was an avid pilot in his younger years and could be seen chasing clouds in his Tiger Moth biplane. Len loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing was his passion. Whether it was chasing rainbow trout in Montana or fishing cod in Cape Breton.

After a long career in the recreational vehicle industry, Len retired and enjoyed later years in Salisbury, NB. He loved his country and served with distinction. He will be missed.

It would be Len’s wish that all who knew and loved him remember how precious life is. If desired, donations made to the Alzheimer’s Society would be welcomed.
