Waldo MacLeod

1943-2023

Waldo MacLeod

It is with a great deal of sadness that we announce the passing of Waldo MacLeod, 79 of Salisbury on February 14, 2023.

Born in Havelock, he was the son of the late Daisy Eagles and the late Pte. Waldo MacLeod who died in 1944 in France fighting for his country during WWII. Waldo spent his entire career as a truck driver and in retirement he missed the open road and the drivers he met and worked with over the years. Waldo was a big man with an even bigger heart. He made everyone feel welcome in his home and he had a great sense of humour. He was very easy going and enjoyed the simple things in life like camping, a good barbecue, watching Westerns on tv, listening to country music and spending time with his family, especially Norma, his devoted wife of 60 years. Besides Norma, he is survived by sons Tim MacLeod of Salisbury, Marty MacLeod (Lori) of Mont Eagle and Scott MacLeod (Judy) of Cornhill, daughter Shelley Hallihan (Darren) of Riverview and sister Anne Hunt of Oklahoma. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary, Hillari, Martina, Martin, Abigail, Autumn, Steve, Chase, Skye, Ben and Chloe as well as several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

There will be a private graveside service for family at a later date. Arrangements are in care of the Salisbury Funeral Home (506-372-4800).

A special thank you to Dr. Morton and the staff of the Jordan LifeCare Centre.

If desired, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by family.
