Leona Stead

It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Leona Stead, 69, of Elgin on June 11, 2022. Born in Sackville, she was a daughter to the late Charles and Madeline (Read) Long.

Leona is survived and sadly missed by her daughter, Tammy (Dean) Wood of Fredericton; her son, Gordon Stead of Fredericton; her two brothers, Tim (Karen) Long of Sackville and Leaman (Fern) Long of Quebec; her two sisters, Donna (Ronnie) Ward of Sussex and Kathy Long of Sackville; her sister-in-law, Irene Long of Cape Breton; her two grandchildren, Alexander, Tristan and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Leona was predeceased by her brother, Peter Long; sister, Sherry Gillespie and her partner Brian Jackson.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury Funeral Home (372-4800).  As per Leona’s request arrangements will be held privately.
