1938-2021

James Lutes

   It is with great sadness that the family of James Eugene Lutes, of Colpitts Settlement, NB, wishes to announce his death at the Moncton Hospital on December 15, 2021.

   Born June 2, 1938 in Moncton NB he was predeceased by his brother Robert Lutes, mother Elizabeth (Calkin) Lutes, and father Eugene Rex Lutes. He is Survived by his wife Sandra Lynne Lutes, daughter Valerie Jane Lutes, and son Michael James Lutes (Linda and family).

   Jim lived and worked in Moncton NB for many years as a Mechanic and retired as a Railway Machinist with Canadian National Railway. He had served his community with commitment and dedication as a volunteer Firefighter in Moncton for many years. He was a member of the Canadian Legion and the Order of Odd Fellows. Jim was a proud gardener, had been an active participant in several community social organizations and enjoyed hunting and other outdoor activities. He wanted his friends and family to know how much he cherished their relationships.

   Arrangements are entrusted to The Salisbury Funeral Home, (506-372-4800), there will be no funeral or visitation. Memorial Donations can be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or a charity of choice.

   His family wishes to thank the Staff, Nurses and Doctors working for Horizon Health and particularly those at the Moncton Hospital where he spent the last several months of his life. They should know that he was very thankful for their compassion and care during a very challenging time.
