Helenanne Carey QC

   Helenanne Carey QC, 89, of Boundary Creek, NB, formerly of Halifax, NS, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, October 7, 2021. Born in Boundary Creek, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (McCrea) Killam.

   After graduating from Salisbury High School in 1949, Helenanne went on to graduate from the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Halifax, Robinson College in Moncton, and received her law degree from Dalhousie University, before going on to practice law in Halifax.

   Helenanne had a lifelong affection for her Siamese cats and companions. Her philanthropic interests were charities helping animal and children, as well as to those supporting equality for women, all of which she generously supported. 

   Survived and sadly missed by her stepdaughter, Nancy Reid (Melbourne) of Sackville, NB; two granddaughters; two great-grandsons; brothers, William P. Killam of Victoria, BC, David G. (Betty) Killam of Killams Mills, NB, and Ryan T. (Brenda) Killam of Boundary Creek; sister, Marjorie Yarema of Oakville, ON; as well as several nieces and nephews.

   In addition to her parents, Helenanne was predeceased by her husband, Roger P. Carey; brothers, Elton, Jeffery, and John.

   Resting at The Salisbury Funeral Home (506-372-4800) from where a private family service was held. For those who wish to stream the service, a web-link can be found on the funeral home website. Interment will be in Boundary Creek Cemetery. If desired, memorials to The Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
