Josephine "Jodi" Kiss

1927-2021

Josephine "Jodi" Kiss

Josephine (Jodi) Susan Kiss, 93 of the Jordan LifeCare Centre, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 28, 2021. Born in Kinnear Settlement, she was the daughter of the late Harry & Thelma (Murray) Chapman.

Jodi spent 70 years living in Toronto where she worked serving others and giving her time to many organizations. She received her 50 year pin for volunteering at the Toronto East General Hospital. She was associated with several churches and was active in the Salvation Army, until the age of 89 when she then moved to N.B. due to failing health.

She was a diligent caregiver to her disabled husband Frank for forty-five years & they travelled extensively together most enjoying their cruises. As many as 47 Bunka embroidery portraits don the homes of family members & friends. Mother was a wonderful cook who always took care in providing a hearty meal & one never left hungry. Although her return to N.B. after so many years was stressful, she kept in contact with her friends & family she left behind. She conversed almost daily with her sister, the last surviving member of her family.

She is survived by her only daughter Lynn E Steeves (Philip) of Fawcett Hill; four grandchildren; Elaine Lounsbury (Glenn) of Peace River, AB, Peter (Angela) of San Antonio, TX, Mark of Guelph, ON, Jill Steeves-Killam of Fawcett Hill; ten great-grandchildren Nicholas, Brennan, Kayden, Luke, Keagan, Ethan, Logan, Aislynn, Dillan, Isaiah; one sister Anah LeClair (late Edward) of Angus, ON, sister-in-law Esther Chapman, brother-in-law Ronald Whittaker and several nieces & nephews; with the mention of special niece Rosalyn Danby who took great care of Jodi (Mom) when I could not.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Frank; her sisters Lois Goddard (Ralph), Margery Sharp (Donald), Winnifred Misdorf (John), Shirley Whittaker; brothers Charles (Eva), Fred, Ernie (Kathy).

There will be a graveside gathering at the United Church in Havelock, N.B on Sunday, Oct 3rd at 2pm with Rev. David Woodworth officiating.

The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to the staff of the Jordan LifeCare Centre for their excellent & compassionate care.
