Chester Lewis

  With sadness the family announces the passing of Chester Earl Lewis, 91, of Intervale Sunday, July 5, 2015 at his residence.

  Born in Monteagle, he was the son of the late John and Laura Lewis.  Chester was a farmer, woodsworker and also worked in construction.  He was a faithful member of the Second North River Baptist Church.  He enjoyed bowling and vegetable gardening and was a kind and caring man.

  Survived by his sister-in-law Rachel of Jordan Memorial Home and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was the last surviving member of his family.  Predeceased by sisters Jessie Dobson (Wesley), Edna Duffield (George), Ethel Dobson (Millage) and Ruby Perry (Leo); infant sisters Viola and Beulah; brothers Eldon (Lill) and Abel as well as special friend Eileen Hill.

  The family want to thank Nancy and Ken Brace and the staff of Country Care Home for the special care provided to Chester.  They also thank long time neighbours Joan and Allen Hill for their support.

  Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Wednesday, July 8, 6 to 8 pm.  The funeral will be held in the chapel Thursday, July 9 at 1 pm with Pastor Robb Hunt officiating.  Interment at Monteagle Cemetery.

  If desired, donations to the Second North River Baptist Church or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
