Earlene Wilson

1931-2015

Earlene Wilson

  Muriel Earlene (Silliker) Wilson died suddenly and peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital on July 4th, 2015 at the age of 83.

  Earlene, Mom’s favourite name, was born in Miramichi, NB.  She was the daughter of the late Ward and Freda (Payne) Silliker.  She married the love of her life in 1952 and raised five children.  Mom had a passionate love for children and being a mom, grandmother and great grandmother gave her the greatest pride and joy in her life.  Thru the good times and the bad times Mom was always there to help the ‘kids’.  Her first love, however, was always "Dad" who she doted on, all the time, humming a little tune.  She was a strong woman, always managing to get what she needed or wanted in a very quiet and gentle manner.  She always enjoyed visits from family and friends as well as her 19 years of winters that she spent in Saint Petersburg, Florida.

  Left behind are Daughters: Barbara (Stephen) Chappell, Moncton NB and Beverly McKenna, Moncton NB;  Sons: Randy (Jackie) Wilson, Carstairs AB, Ricky (Darlene) Wilson, Riverview NB, and Bruce (Clara) Wilson, Riverview NB;  Sisters: Ella Murray, Miramichi, NB, Mary Mason, Moncton, NB, and Ruth (Jimmy) Berry, Moncton, NB;

Brothers: Stephen (Robin) Silliker Arizona, USA, Elmer (Betty) Silliker, Miramichi, NB, and Jerry Silliker, Toronto, ON;  Grandchildren: Chad (Lauren Price) Forbes, Vancouver, BC, Shane Wilson, Riverview, NB, Dawne (Kenny) Tkachuk, Carstairs, AB, Crystal (Keith) Beley, Edmonton, AB, Ricky Wilson, Calgary AB, Sarah Wilson, Beijing, China, Christopher McKenna, Hamilton, ON, and Jamie McKenna;  Great Grandchildren: Teigan and Kellan Tkachuk, Carstairs AB; Makayla, Alexa, and Tavia Beley, Edmonton, AB; and Kailey and Kameron McKenna, Hamilton ON.

  She will also be missed by her sister-in-laws, Myrna Dinney, Hamilton, ON, Peg McConnell, Calgary, AB; and Helen Bulmer, White Rock, BC; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her long time friends Eva and Bob Northrup, Moncton NB and many other close friends from Moncton NB and St. Petersburg, Florida.

  In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her beloved and devoted husband of 65 years Loyal James Wilson (2012); infant daughter Greta Mae Wilson (1952), and brother Huxley Silliker (2012).

  Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Tuesday, July 7, 6 to 8 pm and the funeral will be held in the chapel Wednesday, July 8 at 2 pm with Rev. Danny Compton officiating.

  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society, Friends of the Moncton Hospital, Crossroads for Women Inc. or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
