Bernice Alward

  Bernice Tressia Alward, 63, of New Canaan, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. 

  She was the daughter of the late Ottie and Eva (Carson) Keirstead.  She enjoyed reading, gardening, listening to the music of the Beatles, Genealogy, and being outdoors, especially near the Canaan river where she spent many good memories with late husband Charles and family. 

  Bernice is survived and missed by son Jason Alward (Sherry), granddaughter Emma and grandson Charlie of Mount Uniacke, NS; daughter Jennifer Alward (Ian Brooks) and grandson Auston of Portage Vale;  brothers, Virgil and Stillman; sisters, Luella Beck, Louise Black and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Charles; daughter, Jessica; and brother Eugene.

  Arrangements are in care of Salisbury Funeral Home and Crematorium, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) where a private family service will be held Tuesday, February 10.
