Lloyd Russell

  Lloyd John Russell, 88, of Salisbury passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital.

  Born in Cherryvale, he was the son of the late Harold and Hilda (Ramsden) Russell.  Lloyd was a retired carpenter, a very active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Salisbury Branch 31 and a member of the Monday Morning Merry Makers.  He liked playing crib and enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting and golfing.

  He is survived by his companion Mildred Simpson; brothers Stanley and Lester; sisters-in-law Agnes and Emma Russell of ON and several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his wife Joyce (Hiltz); brothers Ronald, Lewis, James, Raymond, Bert, and Frank and sisters Hilda Steeves, Julia Steeves and Joyce Steeves. 

  Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Friday, October 10 from 7 to 9 pm with a Legion Memorial Service at 7 pm.  The service will be held in the funeral home chapel Saturday, October 11 at 11 am with Rev. Bill Parks officiating.  Interment to follow at Fairhaven Cemetery.

  If desired, memorials to a local charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
