Ivy Tingley

  Ivy Reta (Mesheau) Tingley, 95, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014, at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home. 

  Born October 19, 1918, in Scotch Settlement, she was the cherished daughter of the late Viola Elliott (McConnell) and Archibald Alexander Mesheau.  Ivy, with her late husband James, raised their eight children on the family farm in Colpitts Settlement.  Upon retirement, they moved to Nixon Settlement, then as health failed, to Royal Court in Riverview.  A deeply religious woman, she attended the Middlesex Baptist Church and was a life time member of the Womens Missionary Society.  Ivy's greatest treasures were her books and she passed her love of reading on to her children and grandchildren.  Her children will fondly remember her home cooked meals and her flower gardens.

  Ivy is survived and missed by her five daughters and three sons:  Gloria Jameson (Herbert), Ralph Tingley (Donna), Joyce Quigley (Gerald) all of Colpitts Settlement; Roger Tingley (Bonita), Charlestown, WV, Marilyn Hall (Cyril), Whitney, Marlene Hickman (Robert), Dorchester, Janet Richard, Moncton, and Mark Tingley, Berry Mills.  Ivy was proud of her large family which included 25 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.  Besides her parents, Ivy was predeceased by her husband James Arthur Tingley (Oct 2004), her grandson Jeffrey T. Hall (1999), her brother Burlin Joseph Mesheau (2012), and an infant sister.

  Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Tuesday, September 30 from 6 to 9 pm and from where the funeral will be held Wednesday, October 1 at 2 pm with Pastor Rodney Blyth officiating.  Interment to follow at Middlesex Cemetery.
